Review on Chic Home Embroidery Collection Comforter by Carolina Tavarez

Pleasantly surprised given some other reviews

I have Black & Red bedding -Ordered set in king size and I am happy with it. This is a smart brand and it really does look like the photos. First of all, duvets and sheets that actually fit my bed usually bother me. I have a thick mattress, a memory foam topper, and the sheets that come with the sets are usually not deep enough to completely cover my mattress, but they were actually quite deep. I bought the sheets separately because of this problem I usually have and because I read other reviews that mentioned the sheets were cheap, rough and uncomfortable. They either sleep in pure silk or I've settled for sub-par sheets my whole life because I think they feel amazing. They are very soft and I love the quality! The size is great too! Another feature I usually struggle with on duvet sets is the dust ruffle. I have wooden slats on the sides of my bed and the duster is usually too short to tuck into the sides but this one is long enough that I can leave it open and it hangs nicely, or I can tuck it in and it really does inch left. I don't like leaving it because the duvet is usually not long enough to cover the box spring beds. But this ceiling is very big! Nice to have a king size that fits well. He's also very soft. I don't sleep with my comforters as blankets to keep them looking nice and new. If so, I can say that it would be very convenient. I get what people mean about the black fuzz on the white part, I noticed a bit of it when I cleaned everything up, but it really isn't much and I'm not sure I would have really noticed if I would not have looked for it. I just used a lint roller and it showed up right away. I also noticed a few random threads. Most of them weren't even connected, but there are those who aren't. I have seen this on other items with complex seams. I simply twist the threads in my fingers until they are twisted into a small ball and merge. Not sure if this is effective but seems safer than cutting them off. The colors are rich black, white and red. I still doubt I like the colors and the style in general as it is different from my usual modern jewelry. I don't know if the color on my phone's screen is distorting the colors in the picture or something, but from the advertised picture the red in this blanket struck me as a darker red. In the picture it looked a darker red but in the photos in the reviews it was more of a lighter red so I knew it could be anyway as some of the photos were older. Red - bright, traditional red; Fire engine red. I'm more of a fan of wine, black cherry, dark red. To be fair this also happens when I order red clothes from catalogs and I think it's because my phone changes color at night to be easier on my eyes and not as bright. So make sure you're viewing it on a computer or your phone's screen color doesn't affect the color. It's not bad though and I might grow fond of it if I redecorate the room a bit. In terms of pillows, you definitely need two large king-size pillows for the front-facing pillowcases, which are in the same design as the duvet. These things are very big. Then you need 4 king size pillows for 4 plain black pillowcases to sleep on. These pillowcases are king size but not as roomy as the tri-color pillowcases. The set then came with two large square black pillowcases but I only had one pillow this size to fill a pillowcase so I only use one and put it in the front instead of the back as shown in the promotional image. Just note that the large square pillow you see in my photo is actually just a pillowcase and you must have your own pillow to put inside the pillowcase. The two small pillows in front were real pillows, not fake. We haven't hung the curtains yet as I haven't researched what it takes to hang them, but I will be hanging them if we decide on this quilt. If not, it's just because it's not exactly my traditional style of decorating. I would trade for another set of blankets from this company, I am happy with the quality and the quantity they came in. I only deducted one star because the red color is different than in the picture, at least that's how it seems to me.
