
I waited a few months before writing this to really let it shine. I'm not exactly sure how/why these baddies are classified as "computer speakers" - they're more like real speakers for listening to music. If you're looking for a (decent) speaker set that you can squeeze into the typically cramped spaces on either side of your monitor, the Logitec or Klipsch offerings are better for about 1/3 the price (I switched to these from the Klipsch 2.1) . . If SQ is paramount then you should use the recommended AE distance of 6ft - yes I know. Who has such a big table, right? As said, these things don't need tight spaces (IF you want to get the most out of them). I bit the bullet and bought some coasters for them (also available on the AE site - you can get them a few bucks cheaper elsewhere if you look around) - everything has changed in the world. If you listen to a lot of bass-heavy music then you might want to consider a separate subwoofer for that ultra-low extension - I find they lack the bass (to my liking) but that's a matter of preference. AE also provides them with a subwoofer, but I chose a subwoofer from JL Audio. Regardless of their classification, these are top-notch speakers - you won't find better for the price. Buy with confidence.
