Review on Advanced Carbon Blocking: Discover the Sleek Minimalist Aluminum Version by Jeffrey Choudhury

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Convenient, not so friendly to chips.

Have been using this wallet for a few weeks now. The design is very sleek but thicker than any minimalist wallet I've ever had. It's actually thicker and much heavier than some of the standard wallets I've had, which was a huge disappointment to me to say the least. Dollar is literally a pain in the ass. The money clip's 22-degree bend is stylish, but a poor design choice in terms of ergonomics, as it either digs into your body or digs into whatever you're sitting on. After getting my wallet, I took a 4 hour drive and there was a visible dent in the seat that took days to fix. I've tried putting it in my front pocket, it's still heavy and not very comfortable and I don't even carry that much in it. I currently keep it at home and use it for extra cards that I don't use regularly but need to keep in one place and don't need to take out often. It was problematic enough that I replaced it with a thinner, lighter, and more comfortable minimalist wallet less than a month later. After ordering new cards, I had no problems with the chips in the new wallet. It may be one of the most stylish wallets I've owned, but it's by far the most uncomfortable. There is also the problem of damaged cards. Something in the design and removal of the card rendered all my chips unusable and visibly worn out very quickly. Although I keep my ID or business card at the top of the stack, either the pressure or the way you have to push, push, and blow to remove the cards rendered each chip useless. Two of them were brand new cards that I received after receiving the wallet and I've never had this problem before. It's actually quite bulky in your pocket due to the extra layers of carbon fiber or other thick material on each side of the wallet. twice as thick as it should be. Other than that, it's very easy to use, and I really like the carbon fiber look, so I tried holding a business card between each card with a chip, but I'm afraid damage has been done. Even business cards get very rough around the edges and images wear out with regular use for whatever reason. I've had a few minimalist wallets with a similar design concept and never encountered this problem. Great concept, bad execution. People always compliment how cool it looks and while I agree with them I will never buy this wallet again or buy it for a friend.
