Review on Stay Dry and Adventurous with Merrell πŸ₯Ύ OAKCREEK Waterproof Backpacking Shoes and Boots for Unisex Boys by Adam Hutchinson

Not solid rubber outsole! No stop when walking/climbing

We tried another Merrell shoe at the REI climbing stand and my child had no grip due to the partial felt soles. When it comes to hiking shoes, grip is absolutely crucial! I bought these after looking at the pictures and was hoping for a solid rubber sole, but when I received them I noticed that Merrell reduced the cost by mixing felt/paper soles with rubber soles. It's similar to what Target and Payless Shoe Source make for cheap quality kids' shoes, but I wasn't expecting that from Merrell.

Pros
  • The Merrell OAKCREEK MID LACE WTRPF hiking shoes are waterproof and therefore ideal for hiking in any weather.
Cons
  • No option for wider or narrower widths
