I just received this clipper today and there are two things that stand out to me. The two shields slide with no problem, but the problem is that when you go from say 12mm, 10mm, 8mm, there is a cavity behind the shield that fills with hair. This actually prevents the clipper from actually cutting your hair to the correct length until you clean it. This got really annoying pretty quickly, which led me to my next point: the dial rotates too easily and there's no detent. This caused me to accidentally switch from 6mm to 2mm when I was in the low mm range without noticing it until I made the first 2mm cut, resulting in my whole head down to 2mm so I wouldn't go so crazy. When working properly, it only worked very well on my hair, but cleaning the guard every 2 seconds essentially renders this device useless.
