Review on Wasserstein AC Outlet Mount for Google Nest WiFi - Ultimate Wall Shelf for Google Home, Nest Mini & Nest Hub, Echo Dot 1st, 2nd & 3rd Gen, Sonos One, Smartphones and More (2-Pack) by Toni Miller

Good idea, poorly made product that was a hassle to install.

The idea of combining a socket seemed like an elegant idea. You must use the included wall plate to mount the rack. Wall plates are provided for both typical American sockets. At home I mostly have round sockets with 1 screw in the middle. It was a complete disappointment. When tightening the plate, the wall plate did not fit into the two bushings, allowing the plate to rotate freely on the screw. Too bad I didn't take a picture of it, it was terribly bad. I found a Leviton rectangular outlet (can't find a standard outlet) and the wall plate didn't fit! (first photo). Luckily the plate is cheap plastic, I gave up and filed it until it fit. Finally, the product photos show a very neat router. It's just good Photoshop unless your Google Nest router comes with a 2-inch cable. The second photo shows a small wiring issue that you need to deal with. I would refund the money and buy a simpler wall mount with cord reel if I didn't anger and cut the wall plate off. (PS I know the second photo has more than 1 router and also uses a non-standard outlet. Since I'm serving, I ended up using a larger outlet with built-in USB power.)

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • Everything is fine
