The backpack had enough volume and looked stunning on my OEM Mastiff, but it kept rotating around his torso no matter how tight we tightened the straps or how finely we put the load in balancing his baskets . .The idea of padding the shoulder straps sounds great since the last backpack irritated him around the buckles. The padding tubes around the shoulder straps only served to make it impossible to secure or stabilize the 16 pounds of groceries he had to carry. 9 day hike in the Adirondacks. Even at 3 pounds per side it was useless. :(Looks: Thumbs up. Functional: Not successful. We ended up getting the backpacks from EZY Dog and they fit him perfectly - the backpack didn't bunch up and the bib served as extra protection when he fell over on the trail Trees jumped which can be scratchy and sharp Worked great.
