The "bell" broke off almost immediately from porcelain or some side frangible material from which it is made. I'm afraid to put a lot of oil on it for fear of future chips, but I don't want to go back and buy another that does the same, so I'll get by. Basically it works. It's nice but I'm worried about chips in my oil
