Easy installation and very high quality materials! I bought a first generation version of this unit a few years ago and sent it back because it was cheap and noisy. directly on the motherboard with a large heatsink. Update 90 days later: Initially I was able to run the fan at a fixed full speed of 7400 rpm and it was completely silent. After 90 days I had to lower the top speed to 5600 rpm. run silently, but even at that speed, my SSD runs at 28c. compared to my only SSD with a heatsink running at 47C. I will update again if this speed needs to be further reduced. End of year update: Unfortunately I have to downgrade my rating. As many reviews say, the noise they make is unbearable. It's a slow decline so it took me a very long time to notice it, but when I finally noticed it I had to slow down to 60 percent duty cycle! For the price paid, this is simply unacceptable, especially when it's in the price range of a Noctua fan, the fans' gold standard!
