I've never broken a wheel stud before so I was very surprised when I took off a wheel to replace a broken one wheel and broke one. Saturday afternoon free. I was able to get a replacement from the dealer but then broke 2 trying to remove the next wheel. Overall, I replaced more than half of all the wheel bolts on this car. I don't know if it was cheap stuff, someone told me Subaru uses thin wheel studs or they were just hammer drilled at the very bottom. I suspect it's probably a combination of both. So I started reporting torque specs to the tire shop instead of just stuffing nuts and turning them myself. If you order, don't forget the nuts - most likely you will need them too.
