The assembly of the table is not bad, a person can do it themselves. Quality when the materials are right. I put the clear contact paper on top of the white laminate as it scratches/stains easily. Recommended for longevity. You could get creative and actually use a table stand. So the table would be suitable if the motor was reliable anyway. We had it standing up mostly so used the controls to lower/raise the table a couple of times, we only had it to recently find it stopped working. We tried resetting it (unplug/plug) but it didn't work. So now we have a table that is just a bar table. If we were interested in it, we could choose a table with better construction and design. It's annoying to be fooled only by good reviews. You've had to follow the advice of people who say they read one or two star reviews to really know what you're getting. I'm adding my review so people are more aware of the risk of buying this table.
