I was very happy to get this product because one of my music students had it and liked it. She sent me a link. Then I couldn't figure out how it works. I finally got it! It needs to be connected to a USB power source to work (even when powered on in timer mode). I connect mine to an Anker portable battery and it seems to work. To turn it on, plug it into a USB power source, press and hold the power button, then again to cycle through the heat level options. If you want it to turn off after an hour on the timer after you select the heat level, press twice in a row and it will start counting down the hour and the indicator light will flash slowly. It's fairly adjustable; I wanted it to be above my thumb and I was able to get it to work that way. 👍🏼
