Review on 💻 USBGear USB 3.0 4 Port Power Hub - High-Speed Metal Case for Enhanced Performance by Brett Robinson

The speeds are good and the construction is very good. The power adapter is very short. The day after the installation, my computer stopped booting. After tearing everything apart to check and reinstall the power supply. I decided to disable all USB devices and unneeded drives. Everything was working fine, devices were plugged in one at a time until I powered this hub. There seems to have been a 5 volt backfeed on my motherboard causing some sort of protection mode. Now I'm wondering if I can even trust this connected thing. 1 out of 10, will not buy usbgear again. Update: After talking to some tech friends and doing some troubleshooting, it worked as an unpowered hub without too many issues other than really tight ports. Too bad it doesn't have an additional power supply, but at least it works for connecting USB drives. I connected it to a 7 port hub. Plus at least one star for working as a basic 3.0 hub.
