Good Money - Printers and Supplies

I bought this printer to replace an old but working Brother HL-1440. I need a network printer for a PC connected to an Ethernet network and multiple devices connected to a Wi-Fi network. The Pros are easy to set up with a CD and a USB cable (from my old printer). YouTube setup videos are very valuable. Much faster than the HL-1440 as it should be. I simply connected the printer to my WAP/router via WLAN. You need to know your SSID and WiFi passwords. My Windows 10 PC (connected via Ethernet), iPad (connected via WiFi) and Mac (connected via WiFi) printed immediately. The "deep sleep" issue mentioned elsewhere was not an issue. Wait for a while and after deep sleep mode it will print fine. Duplex printing works once you figure out where to set it up. On the advice of others, I set the Toner option to Continuous. It is not difficult to do this. Con is surprisingly loud when printing. There is "Quiet" mode, but it prints slowly. The quality of the text is no better than on the old printer, maybe a little worse. The instructions for "Infrastructure" and "Peering Point" modes are not clear. I used infrastructure. I tried adding a fourth WiFi connected device (Windows 10 Surface Pro) to the network for printing. I had to download the driver and after the installation the wireless connection from the printer to the router dropped. The solution was to freshly reinstall everything from PC #1 using the CD and USB cable. I highly recommend having and keeping this USB cable and CD. The single line LCD isn't very useful. I was expecting the utility software to give me access to settings and configuration, but I can't find it. buy because the price changes noticeably.
