You are dealing with VERY SMALL screws. Both ends of this device will detach/open and you will slide the M.2 drive board out of the black chamber surrounding the drive board and the M.2 drive you will be installing on it. It comes with all the necessary small parts (a tiny screwdriver is REQUIRED for this as the screws you remove to open the case on either end are very small and VERY EASY TO GET LOST. I suggest using a small white washcloth , to clean and assemble the assembly These tiny screws will not bounce off the rag if you are a surgeon and will not drop anything good for you. I'm not clumsy, but if you drop one of those tiny black screws, good luck finding it. The metal body and its detachable ends are machined to be very tight. (just a warning when assembling the drive). The positive side of this drive case is that there are no protruding appendages sticking out (the USB drive connector). (I have one and love it, but it didn't come with a protective case to protect that USB attachment). Once this drive cage is assembled with your M.2 drive, connect the power cable to it.
