I was originally looking for a docking station with IDE support and SATA support, but I saw this one and it was one day shipping so I pulled the trigger. And it worked like a charm to retrieve old family photos and videos that we feared were long gone on the old IDE drive. I then decided to use it to format some of the SATA drives I've been collecting for years. Not only did it crash every time, but it also blocked my computer's USB ports. The videos kept playing, the music kept playing. But my mouse, keyboard, DVD drive, and audio interface all turned off immediately. And didn't start working again until I fully restarted the computer. It saved some precious memories and I'm grateful for that. But I was afraid that if I keep using it, it would destroy my drives or other USB devices.
