The second time I used this fan it tripped the circuit breaker. I turned the circuit breaker back on, waited a few minutes, and turned the fan back on. It worked for a few minutes and then I heard a popping noise inside so I turned it off and called an electrician to install it. He came out today and said that the gray rectangular box in the part of the lighting kit (that was meant for the fan) smelled of burning (and I could feel it too), and that the fan part was too hot for the time it was there turned on the fan to test it. He told me to stop using the fan for fear that something would happen. He removed the fan and told me to contact the seller. I just called the Hunter Fan Company and they said they cannot ship a new fan without troubleshooting first and they cannot troubleshoot if the fan is not installed. The woman on the phone wanted me to put the fan back in, but I told her if I could put the fan in, I wouldn't pay the electrician $120 to do it. So now I've lost $87 on the fan and $120 on the install. I really liked Hunter's products, but unfortunately I was wrong.
