I bought this for my Porsche 911 which doesn't drive very often. Interestingly, my 6 month premium battery was actually dead and not holding a charge, BUT what was odd was that this device still showed the battery as fully charged, which is definitely not the case. The only thing I can think of is that the device charges the battery and then once it reaches that threshold, it goes into trickle charge, which explains the meter no longer monitors the battery level in real time (so the battery still charges immediately lose charge recently indicted). If I understood the instructions correctly, I would expect this device to go into "error" mode which alerts the user to some other problem (e.g. a bad battery). Mine never did though, so it just showed the battery fully charged after a few hours, but when I tried to start the car there wasn't enough power to crank it. I was expecting a more reliable Porsche as cheap versions of these only cost around $30.
