I'm glad I chose a rather expensive additional cover for my split keyboard. My split keyboard was purchased to help me relax my shoulders with a greater distance than a regular single keyboard. I bought the 20" version of the cable instead of the 9" version. Without tent add-ons, however, the keyboard is flat like any other keyboard, and our hands don't naturally rest flat on the surface when we're seated. When we relax our hands on a table or desk, we naturally twist our wrists slightly toward the outer carpal bone. This slight outward movement relaxes the muscles and tendons that we otherwise tighten to keep our arms straight. With tent add-ons, the keyboard has the slight tilt I need (in the down position) that allows my entire arm down to my shoulder and neck muscles to rest. No tension in the shoulder and neck area because I sit in an unnatural sitting position. Ergonomics, body mechanics are very important. The slightest change to a natural position for sitting at a desk all day can really make a big difference. Note: My arms, shoulders, wrists, and neck are benefiting from several things I've done to reposition my desk and chair. . I bought a footrest and lumbar support in addition to the keyboard and tent elements. All of these things have changed me.
