Description of ๐Ÿ” Enhance Comfort and Ergonomics with KINESIS VIP3 Tenting Accessory (AC820) for Freestyle2 Keyboard

REDUCE FOREARM STRAIN FOR MAXIMUM ERGONOMICS: Conventional flat keyboards force you type with your palms facing down. This harmful posture puts pressure on the forearm muscles and tissues which reduces blood circulation and can lead to fatigue and repetitive strain injuries (โ€œRSIโ€) like carpal tunnel syndrome. Attach the VIP3 accessory to your Freestyle2 keyboard to elevate your thumbs for a significantly more comfortable and healthier typing position. INTEGRATED PALM SUPPORTS WITH CUSHIONED PALM PADS: The VIP3 tenting accessory is designed for those typists who prefer the additional support of the padded palm rests. Choose the V3 model for tenting without Palm Supports. THREE ADJUSTABLE HEIGHTS TO CHOOSE FROM: Ergonomics is all about finding the right configuration for your body type and workstation. The VIP3 kit lets you choose from 5, 10, and 15 degree tenting heights for maximum comfort and easy reproducibility. WHAT'S IN THE BOX: Left and Right v-Lifters, Left and Right Palm Supports, Left and Right Adhesive Palm Pads. KEYBOARD NOT INCLUDED. COMPATIBLE WITH ALL FREESTYLE2 MODEL KEYBOARDS: The VIP3 (AC820) is compatible with all KB800 series keyboards from Kinesis. Not compatible with Freestyle Pro, or Freestyle Edge which have their own corresponding tenting accessories.

Overpriced, works 80% of the time but often falls off

It's disappointing that this overpriced piece of plastic is a necessary complement to a freestyle ergonomic keyboard. For some reason the design doesn't allow the different angles to snap so it can and does fall off at times. The sole purpose of this product is to keep the keyboard at a constant angle, but it doesn't even do that all the time! However, the design isn't terrible and works well about 80% of the time, which I would put up with if it came with a keyboard or was $10. It's great that

Definitely important

I bought the keyboard a few weeks ago and used it without spacers but I gave up and decided to give it a try. I found the keyboard comfortable before, but even more so with stands. When your hands are on the keyboard, they're at a more natural angle when the ridges are open, unlike the keyboard, which stays flat even with a gap down the middle. It only took a few seconds to install, it was that easy. They even color coded it! The wrist pads also come with soft adhesive that can be attached forโ€ฆ

Plastic? I don't want smelly plastic! Okay maybe I will.

I think this kit is a must when buying a freestyle keyboard. With a split keyboard you will have a hard time finding palm rests that will properly support your hands unless you buy 2 mouse sized pads. And proper arm support means supporting the base of the palm, not the wrists themselves. Pressure on the wrists puts pressure on the carpal tunnel and actually aggravates the tendons and nerves in the carpal tunnel, making your symptoms worse. You want to rest the heel of your hand on the softโ€ฆ

Be sure to install them correctly!

Stupid, I assumed the legs would only attach on the right side. And of course, when I first installed Lets, I installed them the wrong way round. My legs buckled all the time, which frustrated me to no end. In trying to diagnose the problem I found they were installed on the wrong side and replaced them. Problem solved. These things should only be designed to fit in one way. OR. Let them be versatile and add tacks to the legs so they work in any direction. If instructions are needed to installโ€ฆ

A must have split keyboard for better ergonomics

I'm glad I chose a rather expensive additional cover for my split keyboard. My split keyboard was purchased to help me relax my shoulders with a greater distance than a regular single keyboard. I bought the 20" version of the cable instead of the 9" version. Without tent add-ons, however, the keyboard is flat like any other keyboard, and our hands don't naturally rest flat on the surface when we're seated. When we relax our hands on a table or desk, we naturally twist our wrists slightly toward

Climb direction not enough, have to try again

This Freestyle2 looks a little better than the Freestyle I already have. The keys for 2 are definitely a lot softer, I think they have more travel and might be easier on the knuckles than the original. As mentioned, ignore the heel of the palm rest; they are useless. I believe you need both palm rests and carrying straps so you can buy them together from the supplier. My original Freestyle isn't exactly a quality keyboard (in my opinion) and only time will tell how good the keyboard is. FS2โ€ฆ

Without exception the BEST keyboard!

The second Kinesis Freestyle keyboard I've had (the first one I bought from them because it was pre-revain I guess). With her I have become one of the FASTEST and most accurate typists. To be honest people can't believe how fast I type. I just need a few inches in the middle. This is my first time using elevators. They are amazing! Only I lied I'm so stupid. I know I'll be getting a computer soon. So what should I do? Order for my current iMac, again. Oops. So the hotkeys don't work. Butโ€ฆ

Required Accessories

Pros: - Canopy and palm rests are a huge ergonomic benefit to reduce wrist stress for this keyboard and should be implemented with this accessory or other means. Cons: - Palm rests feel flimsy and cheap. They're not overly comfortable compared to other wrist pads like the Microsoft Sculpt - the 10-degree tilt isn't exactly stable, making that angle uncomfortable at best and unusable at worst. Summary: If you have a Freestyle 2 keyboard, I'd hate to recommend this accessory as it's essential toโ€ฆ
