Based on our own experience this replacement pin for a radio microphone was a complete waste of money .The pin was faulty upon arrival and caused major communication setbacks during an important automotive project. I like that it takes accurate readings. The key I've found to getting the most accurate reading besides having a good thermometer, is to make sure you take the reading first thing in the morning and before you get out of bed. I feel like many women will get out of bed, shower, maybe even eat breakfast before taking their temperature which is definitely not the best way to use this thermometer, at least if you are using it for ovulation tracking.
