Review on πŸ” Enhance Comfort and Ergonomics with KINESIS VIP3 Tenting Accessory (AC820) for Freestyle2 Keyboard by James Lapa

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Plastic? I don't want smelly plastic! Okay maybe I will.

I think this kit is a must when buying a freestyle keyboard. With a split keyboard you will have a hard time finding palm rests that will properly support your hands unless you buy 2 mouse sized pads. And proper arm support means supporting the base of the palm, not the wrists themselves. Pressure on the wrists puts pressure on the carpal tunnel and actually aggravates the tendons and nerves in the carpal tunnel, making your symptoms worse. You want to rest the heel of your hand on the soft part. This kit does the job well with built in wrist rests and a padded stick. I have some problems with the kit. First, it's overpriced for what it is. I think it should be $25 or so. This is a support kit only and the palm rests are plastic. But I understand they probably don't move as much inventory as Microsoft and other companies, hence the price. are likely to contain a lot of bacteria if you have sweaty hands. I don't have sweaty hands so it's not a big deal, but I imagine it gets pretty weird when you do. I think it would be better to have a non-porous soft material that can be cleaned by wiping. The feet on this kit aren't very grippy either, so the keyboard tends to move from day to day. Not too much of a problem, but for the price it should hold up better. Overall I think the keyboard needs this kit but I gave it a 4 star rating because of the things above.
