The Goldtouch V2 is an excellent ergonomic keyboard. I love how the keyboard is split, the lack of a number pad (allows for mouse zooming), and the high quality of this keyboard. Individual preferences are very important when choosing a keyboard for a user. The most important factors for me were finding a keyboard that (1) gets rid of the number pad so my hand doesn't have to reach far for the mouse, and (2) accommodates the Shift, Alt, Ctrl, Home, End keys. , Page Up, Page Down, Delete, Backspace, and Arrow keys in places where I can easily tap them without looking down. As a fast typist, I prefer to keep my eight fingers on the home row (ASDF and JKL ;) and press all the modifier keys to edit text without looking down. The Goldtouch V2 is good but not ideal for the dedicated keys. Less good are the Right Shift and Right Ctrl keys, which aren't as wide at the top as the wide Left Shift and Left Ctrl keys, making them a little harder to find without looking. But there's a reason their vertices are normal width: there's some airspace between them and the arrow keys. The isolation of the arrow keys is important so that they can be easily distinguished from the rest of the keys. The Goldtouch V2 gets top marks for ergonomics. I needed a more ergonomic keyboard to reduce the strain on my right shoulder. By moving the mouse closer to where the number pad would normally be, this tension is relieved. Splitting the keyboard down the middle allows my forearms and wrists to align naturally with the main row keys. The keys feel light, making it easy to accidentally type them by resting your fingers on the keys. This necessitates an extra palm rest so you can take some strain off your fingers, especially when you're not typing. I ditched the expensive Goldtouch palm rest, which is sold separately, and bought a plain gel-filled band. A separate small gel mouse pad keeps my hands level when switching between keyboard and mouse. An alternative to the Goldtouch V2 is the Kinesis Freestyle2, an ergonomic Kinesis Freestyle2 keyboard for PC (standard 9-inch spacing). all the same advantages of the Goldtouch V2 and better right Shift and Ctrl keys, but I didn't really like the fact that the two halves of Kinesis Freestyle 2 move independently, they give more flexibility in their positioning - that is good - but I often move the keyboard slightly, and with Kinesis I have to move both halves.
