Review on πŸ›€ Moen R2356DBN Safety 16-inch Bathroom Grab Balance Assist Bar with Shelf, Brushed Nickel: Ensuring Enhanced Safety and Convenience in Your Bathroom by Joshua Pilla

Revainrating 5 out of 5

They make great shower rods but they do NOT look like safety rods!

I put two of these in a tub with a tall jacuzzi shower which makes getting in and out a bit difficult. I placed one near the entrance and exit and the other at the opposite end, closer to the shower head. Both have shampoo and soap and look like shampoo holders. Much nicer than industrial style handrails, but just as strong and secure. I installed extra blocking behind the drywall and tiles when the trim was tiled. But assuming you installed the standard studs on the 16" centers, you can install them where those studs are. I used a diamond bit to drill through the tiles and then used the included stainless steel screws to drive them through the tiles and drywall into the studs. I've just bought 3 more to fit into a new house I recently bought (which will not have a blockage behind the tiles). with an electronic screwdriver. I then use a long carpenter's scale to set the posts to the desired height. I then use the same diamond drill bit to drill holes in the tile so I can screw each end back on. "Shampoo is written" on the studs behind the drywall and tile. Luckily, they make amazing storage for all your shower essentials. But they will also protect us old people from falling.
