The horse blanket fits as shown in the photo in the ad, not fitted to the horse's back. The quality is better than expected. There is a Velcro fastener on the front under the buckles. So if your horse is not used to this sound, be aware. It looks like it will be easy to clean and perfect for keeping freezing rain off my horse who won't go under its shelter when there is food elsewhere without a quilt to keep warm. The reason I didn't give 5 stars is that it would be great if the withers were padded. This can put pressure on that vulnerable area with no padding (especially no back contour). For the price I will add the padding myself. Overall I'm very happy with it.
