Review on e.l.f. Contour Palette, 4 Shades, Sculpt, Shade & Illuminate Cheekbones, Light/Medium, 0.56 Oz (16g) by Barbara Robinson

For the price it's good but not great. I appreciate that the bowls hold a decent amount of product and are big enough to easily slip a brush in. I also really like that the panoramas can be easily detached so you can put them in something like the Z palette. The mirror is big and I think that's a big plus for this palette. It fits well and I love it. The highlighter shade (top left) is a bit shimmery for my taste. I'm very fair and even on my fair skin there's a bit of a chalky undertone to it. But it's functional, and if you blend it very well, you get a very subtle, natural shade. The slightly yellowish powder (above right) works well for contouring under the eyes, although I need a light hand as it can get bulky. It oxidizes a bit on me, but it's definitely not bad. This powder and the bronzer are definitely my favorites. Bronzer (below left) was a pleasant surprise. It's a neutral shade that seems to work well with a variety of skin tones (I've had a few friends want to try it), although it's quite subtle and will likely be too light for those with darker skin tones. It's buildable and has no flicker, which I appreciate. The contour powder (bottom right) was disappointing. I like this color because it's cool but not ashy, perfect for my fair skin. The problem is that it's really spotty and striped. It sticks to where you first put it and it's killing me, I can't blend it. When I tried to contour my cheeks with it, it left dull dark patches after intense blending with the brush. I took off all my makeup and tried again, this time with a damp makeup sponge. Still no luck. I'll save this for the contouring under the chin where the mottle isn't as noticeable. But it will never hit me on the cheek again.
