We bought these boots for my seven year old daughter. They are very comfortable and stylish and my daughter loves wearing them. She wore them both in field conditions and on concrete and did not complain of any pain in her legs. If you enjoy extreme hiking, be aware that the ankle support does not sit as high on the ankle as in adult hiking boots. I honestly don't know if it matters to the kid because we've walked in state parks and moderately rocky areas but only one day at a time. For your average experience, I would buy them with confidence.
