Review on PlayStation 4 Resident Evil 2 - Enhanced SEO Edition by Michael Reese

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Can you survive the horror.again?

Resident Evil 2 on the original Playstation is one of my favorite games of all time. I remember watching my friends play it after school when I was about 15 and couldn't wait until I could get my own copy. A few mowed yards later and it was all mine. It ranks right up there with the first Silent Hill as my favorite survival horror game of all time. This Remake, like the Remake of the original, improves the graphics and adds areas not present in the 1998 game. Graphically, it's top notch and the characters react to the events and enemies around them. The music is sorely lacking with only little hints of the original score here and there. Of course, you can buy the original music as a DLC but why couldn't they just include it? Capcom being the cash making opportunist that they are.they knew fans of the original would buy it.and I did.The reason this game gets only 4 stars from me is the annoying and unnecessary Sherry part where you must escape Chief Irons. They went out of their way to make him a real creep in this game. It's effective.but I almost gave up trying to make it to that last door before he would catch me. I eventually got it.but it needlessly interrupts the flow of an otherwise great game.If you're a fan of Resident Evil or survival horror then this is a must. It's likely the best game in the series since the first Remake in 2002. I hope we get a Remake 3.

Pros
  • A spine-chilling reimagining of a horror classic - Based on the original PlayStation console release in 1998, the new game has been completely rebuilt from the ground up for a deeper narrative experience
Cons
  • Possibly too scary for children
