BENEFITS: Reliable impact printing for medical forms, business forms, receipts, labels and other specific sized documents. Sturdy machines that will last for years with proper maintenance and cleaning. You can feed computer paper (paper with small holes for continuous paper feeding), copier paper (no holes, cut sheets), and letterhead. The function is controlled via a level on the right side of the device. USB or parallel printer interfaces (wide jack) are available. Win 7 has preinstalled drivers for these Okidata 320/321, 420/421 models. This is a compact model. It's smaller than its counterpart of the same brand (even with the same name), about four to six inches smaller in width, allowing it to fit in a tighter space. The tiny ribbon ink cartridge used in this model lasts a LONG time (2-4 months) with relatively heavy use. The cartridge is also very easy to find cheap on the internet, even if it is original. As I have never had one of these printers (added to our offices over the years 8-10) that failed within 3 years of purchase I cannot confirm the warranty. Never had a chance to use it. The print quality is consistent and suitable for office work, and I find the print speed satisfactory, if not impressive. CONS: Staplers, clips, and other office waste can easily slide into the rails and break due to the input trays that tilt down into the mechanism. You have to beware of this rubbish. Setting the exact and correct position of the forms depends on the computer, program and printer. One printer can print a receipt perfectly 0.5" from the left, another 0.25" from the left, with the same drivers and specifications. A bit of trial and error to find the specifics of each machine. We use permanent markers to mark each correct position on the feeders. If you print multiple receipts and need to switch between different bill receipts, you must turn off the device to ensure it resets to the correct orientation or prints relative to where it originally stopped printing. There are other ways, but they take longer than a simple reset. Care must be taken to ensure that the feeder's prongs line up exactly with the paper holes, otherwise the paper will tear and create a mess. So the device is very perceptive and not entirely foolproof. These printers (320/321 420/421) are also very noisy, bear that in mind. May or may not include a USB connection cable on arrival depending on who you buy it from (refurbished or not). A parallel printer interface cable is NOT included. Additional purchase if you want to use this old interface. Be careful with the rear end caps as pushing the printer against a wall may damage the end caps and/or USB/LPT cables if you are not careful. I hope this review helps you in some way.
