My first thought was to use it as a headrest for my kids who miss the high back booster seat with padded wings around their heads that allow them to nap in the car, without falling over. It turns out that this headrest is too thick in the area behind the neck (about 4 inches) for them to sit comfortably. However, the thickness is very comfortable to provide neck support for adults or maybe teenagers. When attached to the car seat, the headrest provides support and comfort, providing enough support to prevent the head from side to side. On the back of the headrest, in line with the elastic band, there is a zipper that can be removed for washing. I haven't tried removing the foam from the cover, but the hole seems large enough that it should be easy to put the pillow back in the cover as it originally was. If there is anything I would like about this pillow if it was a second strap to restrict movement when installed on a car headrest. Finally, the elastic can be stretched to about 20 inches in length and about 2 inches in width.
