In general I like these lights a lot (I have lights with a motion sensor). I set up all three; one in my hallway and two in two different closets. The hallway works well when it's dark and I walk through it, then turns off as soon as I exit the hallway. It's a set-and-forget situation for him. I have one in my theater room closet for viewing my movie collection (no other lights) which is great for that purpose and turns on when I enter the room as it's right outside the door. I suppose because my whole body is moving it kicks in pretty quickly. The third is in my dressing room. This one doesn't always turn on when I need it and I have to wave my hand before it sees me (because it's on my right when I go into the closet). Hopefully this gives you an idea of when you should use them and when they don't work so well.
