Review on Heavy-Duty Stainless Steel Thermostat by Stant-14948 by Robert Aan

I installed a Stant thermostat on a new Delco A/C water pump using an existing thermostat housing. Leaked antifreeze. The thermostat worked. Bought a new housing and found the Stant thermostat is slightly smaller in diameter than the part of the Delco air conditioner it replaces which allows antifreeze to leak. I've tried both using the gasket that came with the Stant and ordering a new Delco A/C gasket. No combination fits into the thermostat housing (new or old) tight enough to keep the thermostat centered in the housing or prevent it from leaking. The Delco climate thermostat fits snugly into the housing for easy installation and centers the gasket to securely seal the water pump.
