At first I knew it was cheap and wasn't going to be of the highest quality. I read the reviews and saw that a lot of people had issues with wood table tops not matching, but my husband does woodwork for fun so it wasn't anything he couldn't handle. He is also a trained welder, so metal problems do not bother him. In any case, the metal rods are quite thin and easily crushed with a drill, so care had to be taken not to over-tighten the screws. . The bars on the adjustable shelf would not fit when the top and bottom brackets were tightened, but could slide into place when loosened. The small dark wooden part fits well on a desk. The pre-drilled holes in the lighter, larger section of wood were nowhere near in the right places no matter which way the wood was turned. The best fit was still 1/2" on one side and 2" on the other, so my husband took the nuts off and just re-drilled them and replaced them in the right places. For the price it was what we expected and it will do the job it's intended for, but unless you have the person to do the work necessary to make it really fit, consider buying something else.
