This foot has some play on my Janome 6500. Have tried using it on tops and cardigans in various knits. I find that the foot is just shorter than all of Janome's. Even though I set the sewing foot pressure to 3 (all the way down), the fabric had too much slack. However, I recommend this for heavier fabrics like fine wool, flannel, or even stretch twill. I'm not sure if I can use this foot for block stitches for the same reason I won't be using it for knitting projects anymore. In addition, the sizes are engraved on the leg and painted in red,
