That was exactly what I wanted. Two of these light enough for my child's bedroom. There are no overhead lights in the bedroom and this was the perfect solution to illuminate his room without having to resort to floor lamps or rewiring cables. We connected them to existing sockets. DH did the installation. He didn't complain that it was difficult, but he's also a general contractor, so his opinion on the installation will be biased anyway. The lamps look beautiful in the room. They suit my child's youthful nature and can grow with him at the same time. I don't expect to need to replace/upgrade as my child gets older. The headlight has a manual switch. It's much closer to the plug than the bulb itself. This works in our situation since we hung the bulbs a little higher to provide light. This also allowed the switch to be placed very close to the arm, but the position of the switch should be considered prior to installation.
