Auto focus is slower and manual focus cannot be performed when connected. When the thumbscrew is tightened, the two sections do not line up on the inner surface (relative to the lens). I was concerned that one side might cut into the lens barrel. Keep in mind that if the lens needs to be repaired, the warranty will be void. The cutouts do not exactly match the area around the selector switches. Auto focus is slower and you cannot focus manually when connected. This is a powerful mount, I have used it several times on a tripod, no other problems have been encountered. I give it a low score due to manufacturing misalignment issues (mentioned above) and long-term use issues.
