Review on Vantec CB-ST00U3 NexStar USB 3.0 to SATA 6Gbps Adapter: Efficient Optical/Storage Connection, Black by Eli Saumell

I bought this because my external Blu-Ray drive broke and I had an old internal drive that I got from another computer could pull out. However, I think there is something wrong with this particular device. I've tried a DVD drive and a Blu-Ray drive and they both seem to have random problems reading and ripping DVDs. I would say it works 75% of the time, but some drives just have problems reading sectors. I thought it was my Blu-ray drive so I pulled it out and put in my DVD drive. But he does that every now and then. I actually told Amazon my new Blu-Ray was bad and asked them to send me another one. But now I think it's this machine. It worked great with updating and HD copying my dad's laptop. But optical discs are really a godsend.
