I checked the IMEI and serial number when I bought the phone from an authorized Apple reseller, so it's not like I got a knockoff. I've been an iPhone user for four years, and my experience with the 4c has been excellent. I wanted the later, but I didn't like the reviews for the 10-ke, so I opted to replace it with the iPhone 8 when he began to blunt. I used 4c for four years and can honestly say I never felt sorry for him. The glass on it is in great shape despite the fact that he fell with me and the keys landed in one of his bags. I finally broke down and upgraded to the latest version. The phone is fantastic. I was advised by numerous people that I spent too much and that it would have been able to take another brand at a lower price. I tend to be frugal, but in this circumstance I felt it was justified to overpay. The amount of ease I had hoped for was achieved. Yet as time went on, it became clear that not everything was as it seemed. I was just bored and wanted to look at my phone without the case on. Withdrew it and went completely still. The glass on the bottom of the case was cracked by around 2 centimeters. Carl, a broken screen on a phone that has been carefully used for only a few weeks while within a case and has never been dropped! Then I recalled Apple's lauded customer care, along with the urban legend that their warranty covers such repairs and that they provide loaner phones during the transition. Called. They claimed they couldn't provide a phone number, only a date, but that it will be given in priority order. There is insufficient stock, diagnostics will take three weeks, and there are no assurances that a replacement will be available. The typical $50 phone lasts no more than two weeks before breaking, so you'll have to either replace it or send it in for servicing, during which time you'll be without a phone while you do the dishes. And if you're lucky, the warranty service will fix it at no cost to you. Conclusion? Excellent phone, I'd probably buy it again; however, I wouldn't put much stock in Apple's claims that the screen is scratch-resistant without first gluing on some protective glasses. Not! Clearly, he doesn't even have to go down to break. Nevertheless, Apple's service is not at all what I expected it to be based on reports.
