I've been using this portable espresso machine once a day since I've been using it. Eventually the pump started sticking worse and worse, now it won't even pop out and I have to take it apart, fiddle with it to make it work properly. I don't need 20 minutes to make two espressos, but unfortunately it doesn't take that long for a great espresso either, at best now with these problems I get very little crema, it's basically just brown water, still usable and decent. But what I have to go through to get it just doesn't suit him, it's no better than dripping coffee. and the cold drink I make works better as an espresso than what comes out of this machine. At first I liked it. Squeezing the pump was easy, didn't require much force, and worked very, very well. I always cleaned and dried it properly and little by little the pump started to stick. Now when I press I have to hold it down until I hear a slight hiss before releasing. The area also needs to be sanded perfectly to what the devices want as it's too rough and you get that horrible looking shit that some people have fined talking about and end up allowing the water to bypass the area entirely. You also need to compact the soil perfectly with little more than light pressure. If you push it too hard again, the water will bypass the bases to ignite and you have slop. What I just said is not the problem. I know how to get the perfect grind with the perfect dab. My problem is with the pump itself. which eventually fails and becomes unusable. It's not metal either, it has a metal body, but the pump itself is plastic. I'm sure this espresso maker will be fine for occasional use or even a single trip, but it won't last long. long time. It has a very, very short lifespan, and for the price, yes the parts are beautifully finished and durable, with the exception of the pump cover which is cheap and fails to function properly over time. I am also unable to return as the return window was closed at the time this issue occurred. Otherwise I'd be back, so I'll be back to try and fix what I can and see if I can get it working properly again. But yeah, I'd rather go back and get my money back.
