Works as intended - my new review

I haven't messed around with it too much. I bought this so I could hook my Wii up to the new tv I bought during the holiday. The brief test I ran was solid. Good sound and picture quality. I loaded up a game without any issue but didn't make time to sit down and play something to see if there are any quirks to report. Will update when I get the chance to really sit with it.My only complaint with the product is something I knew before buying so I don't count it against them. I could see it being overlooked and upsetting some people though. It requires a power source and has a micro-USB cable to do so. I guess in theory you could plug into your tv's USB slot or game console but I haven't looked into the product instructions so make sure you verify before taking my word for it. I have it plugged into my power strip. On top of needing a power source it has an on/off switch. This isn't necessarily bad, as I prefer that to it just constantly being on when plugged in, but it is another thing to worry about when using this device.I couldn't find a better solution for the price but would've preferred a more elegant product. Having a bunch of wires go to this small box that has an on/off, power cable, and HDMI to tv. It's cumbersome and cluttered to such a small device but gets the job done rather well for my purposes.

Pros
  • Easy to install and use
Cons
  • May interfere with signal transmission
