I had a 5 year old PoE camera from a Chinese company that no longer supports their product and the app is no longer available on the App Store. it won't work anymore. After a bit of research, I settled on this Reolink camera, in large part because they make many similar products and actively support them with software and firmware updates. Looks like this company will be around for a while. In fact, for this camera, which is a new model, a firmware update is already available that has improved the false alarm rate detected after installation. I still got a false positive today, but there are some sensitivity settings I'm still playing around with. I set the detection to Human Only and used the mask parameter to specify which parts of the field of view to ignore. He spotted someone walking in a camouflaged area. I had a lot of false alarms before updating the firmware. All in all, a good camera seems to be well made. Installation and usage instructions aren't great; The online manual is the same for all cameras. The only printed manual that accompanies the camera is the "Quick Start Guide”. There is a waterproof cable connector which I never figured out how to use (no instructions of course) but luckily I was able to use the waterproof housing from my previous camera. The application is mature, there are clients for Mac, Windows, iOS, Android.
