Great Value! for my opinion

I'm using this product with an elderly Dell laptop that has an obnoxious keyboard, with keys that are nearly level with the keyboard back. Once my fingernails get longer than 1/8", it is very difficult to type anything without errors, so I have a small external keyboard (an Evoluent purchased from revain - love it) propped on top of the attached one, making the touchpad inaccessible without moving the keyboard every time I want to use it. This touchpad works just like the one on the laptop, so…

Pros
  • The cable runs from the side. This is the only thing I dislike.
Cons
  • The touchpad surface may scratch easily with regular use

The touchpad is truly mouse compatible

This touchpad is truly mouse compatible since it is the only one I found that actually works with every type of device that requires a standard mouse. The ratings for the product are good, but there is some revain programmer pervert who thinks it is funny to add a "sheerness" rating. "Sheerness" refers to a woman getting raped and customers do not find that amusing.

Pros
  • Durable USB Cable: Wired touch pad with 5 foot and 3 inches long durable cable
Cons
  • It may not be compatible with certain operating systems

My wrists thank you, revain!

I have a lot of issues with my wrists due to too much time at the computer. I’ve tried using a vertical mouse but I prefer using this trackpad over that mouse. For me, it was literally plug and play. It has a long cord so you can place it where you need to place it. The device itself is small enough that it can sit in front of your keyboard. I noticed a big decrease in discomfort the first day that I started using it. I’ve been using it for about a week with great and I’m very pleased with it…

Pros
  • Easy to Use: 2 Buttons external touch pad with a plug and play feature; No driver needed
Cons
  • The touchpad may not be ergonomic enough for extended use

Older small version works with Linux

I ordered the small version some time ago, tried it with a Linux system, and it's a little slow to respond sometimes, but it worked well enough (and still does). And nothing special was required to get it operating. I plugged it in and it worked. There's no convenient way to customize or modify the operation though---you get what you get. It has a small footprint which is handy for crowded desktops.More recently, I ordered the large version. It only partly works with Linux. The touchpad part…

Annoying gestures for my opinion

There are a large variety of non-disableable gestures on this thing for no reason at all which you will accidentally trigger all the time when just trying to scroll or even if you touch it in a peculiar way. It makes it borderline unusable. For $20 I wasn't expecting a lot and if it didn't have those gestures, or if you could turn them off, it would have been exactly what I hoped it was.If you don't ever use 2 finger scrolling then this will probably be fine. It's not all that appealing to use…

Pros
  • OS : Windows 7, 8, and 10
Cons
  • The touchpad may be prone to fingerprint smudges

Perfect replacement for my trackball mouse

I recently started playing a game on PC that I normally play on my iPad. Using the mouse for it seemed awkward so I looked into the availability of a touchpad for a desktop PC. When I found this one it was my first choice because I love my Perixx keyboard. I was not disappointed. The touchpad works well and saves space in the same way the trackball mouse did. The only thing that would make it better would be if I could turn off "tap to click". It is plug and play so there is nothing to install,

Worked perfect! on my review.

This worked great, broke a bone in my hand and because of cast, I could not use my mouse! Wonderful addition to my life! The touchpad may not have a long lifespan.

Glitchy unfortunately

It works right out of the box as soon as you plug it in, however it's very jumpy and glitchy it's hard to get the cursor in the exact spot you need.idk if it's because my usb ports are 3.0 or not but it's not smooth at all, also there is no scroll. It looks good and good build quality. I'm wondering if its just hit or miss with these things because some people are saying they work as good as the ones built in to the laptops, I have one of those laptops and it looks just like this thing but the…

It works well for what it is

I needed a trackpad where I can't use a mouse. I wouldn't want to use this all the time, but I have it hooked up to a PC that I usually only used with a gaming controller. I wish the cord came out the other side, and it is light and moves around easily. Maybe I can velcro it. That isn't the product's fault. It works well enough. It feels a little cheap but it works fine. It is better than an $80 keyboard with a built-in trackpad.

Pros
  • ‎Perixx Computer GmbH
Cons
  • The touchpad may have limited customization options

Great product on my review.

I like this product but it is limited to basic gestures. 1. Moving mouse cursor 2. One finger touch 3. Two finger tap 4. Double click 5. Tag and Drop 6. Vertical Scroll 7. Zoom in/out. It does lag and it takes patients because it is very small. This would be an alternative for steaming for playing simple games instead of using your mouse. In addition, once you plug it in it is ready to go. I would also say its to pricey for what you get. You could get a keyboard with touchpad around the same…

Pros
  • Saves desk space compared to traditional mouse and keyboard setup
Cons
  • The touchpad may be too expensive compared to other models

Cannot Turn of Gestures if you're using it with Windows 10

This installs and works.I dislike all of gestures on a touch pad."Multi-touch Gestures: with 7 features such as one finger slide, one finger touch, 2 finger tap, double click, tag and drop, vertical scroll, and zoom in/out"When I'm using this touch-pad I get clicks when I don't want them. The most annoying one is the one finger slide. I keep activating that when I don't mean to.I just checked and in Windows and I already had all of the Touch-pad gestures disabled. So this device ignores windows

Pros
  • Touch Pads
Cons
  • The touchpad may be too small for some users

Remote touch-pad "mouse " operation - so so

Unit is rather light weight, so if you use this on a keyboard shelf, it easily moves around the table surface when you try to "mouse around". Rather sluggish response to scrolling through PDF document pages (but this is probably due to using a slow computer). I just know it "functions" but from my setup and situation - am not overly impressed. I can't give any outstanding recommendation, but it does provide the basic functions I would expect from a touch pad device.

Happy with it on my review.

It is smaller than what I would have liked but it is better than a mouse as far as ergonomics is concerned. I was looking at the Apple pad but they are very expensive so this does the job. It is wired but since it is my home office anyway is just a minor inconvenience.

Pros
  • Multitouch gesture capability for smooth and efficient scrolling
Cons
  • The touchpad may not have a smooth surface, causing skin irritation

Perixx PERIPAD-501B Touchpad

Edit 6 27 17 Please note my original 5 star review is for the model 501B model. I was fortunate in that I bought 2 of them. Both still work fine. I see now my review is shown for the model 501IIB. They have eliminated the light colored triangle in the upper right corner of the trackpad that enabled a right click without using the button. For that reason, and the fact that my review of an earlier more functional model has been retained, I am knocking my review down to 3 stars. With what is now…

Uses generic Windows mouse driver

This says you don't have to install a driver. What that means is that the company doesn't provide a drive and that Windows recognizes this as a generic HID mouse. That would be fine if you can handle never being able to turn of Windows trackpad gestures. But they will probably drive you crazy - you'll be trying to drag something and instead you get the task switcher. Really this is a Windows issue. Microsoft should let you turn off gestures whether you have a precision trackpad or not. But…

Pros
  • Compact Design: Small and Light portable touch pad with a dimension of 3.39 x 2.95 x 0.43 inch
Cons

Saved me when HP Envy touchpad died

A little over a year ago, I purchased a nice, large HP Envy laptop. Unfortunately, it wasn't as 'nice' as it seemed and within less than a year, the touchpad died. I've been using this Perixx pad for about three months now. It's easy to use and works well. The pad is smooth, the cord is long and you don't have to use the pad on a hard surface. It's about half the size of the HP touchpad but I don't have any issues with that. Overall, for the price, I'm happy with it for general, day to day…

Pros
  • Ergonomic design allows for comfortable use for extended periods of time
Cons
  • The touchpad may have limited availability in certain regions

A handy accessory for gamers.

I have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome in both hands and clicking a mouse puts my hand to sleep and becomes painful. Some of the games I play require a lot of clicking, so with this touchpad, I just have to tap it and it does the click for me. Now I can play my games without causing hand pain. It is not quite as sensitive as the ones on a laptop, but overall it is good enough, so I am happy with it. I bought 2; one for my wife and myself.

Pros
  • Perfect for individuals with mobility or dexterity issues
Cons
  • The touchpad may be too bulky for tight desk spaces

Useful USB Touchpad

Pros of this Touchpad:*Connects and starts working without driver installation.*Smooth surface to the touch.*Cursor is very responsive.*It has all the multi-gestures you can get from a touchpad (explained in the manual).*Long USB cable so you can connect it comfortably to a computer without having to be too close to the ATX tower.*Left and right buttons respond quickly when pressed.Cons of this Touchpad:*The left and right buttons could feel less awkward with better placement.*Cursor movement…

Works in Linux out of the box

The small version works out of the box in OpenSuSE and should work with any recent Linux distro; no special drivers needed. It registers as a mouse AND a keyboard, not a touchpad, but it works just fine, including the two and three finger gestures for scrolling and minimizing open windows or switching apps. Why does it register as a keyboard and mouse? Well, if you're moving the cursor, clicking, or using two-finger scroll, it registers as mouse movements/clicks. If you use three fingers, it…
