Review on Effortlessly Navigate Your Laptop Or Desktop With The Perixx PERIPAD-501 Wired USB Touchpad by Marquel Floyd

Older small version works with Linux

I ordered the small version some time ago, tried it with a Linux system, and it's a little slow to respond sometimes, but it worked well enough (and still does). And nothing special was required to get it operating. I plugged it in and it worked. There's no convenient way to customize or modify the operation though---you get what you get. It has a small footprint which is handy for crowded desktops.More recently, I ordered the large version. It only partly works with Linux. The touchpad part works---the cursor can be moved around with the pad, but the buttons don't work, and no tap-to-click function. I tried it with Debian and Ubuntu installs, and the buttons and click don't work with either. The pad itself works fine when plugged into a Mac machine, so I'm guessing it's a driver issue.

Pros
  • ‎1 Embedded MultiMediaCard
Cons
  • The touchpad may not have a smooth scrolling feature
