Review on Effortlessly Navigate Your Laptop Or Desktop With The Perixx PERIPAD-501 Wired USB Touchpad by Steven Latham

Works in Linux out of the box

The small version works out of the box in OpenSuSE and should work with any recent Linux distro; no special drivers needed. It registers as a mouse AND a keyboard, not a touchpad, but it works just fine, including the two and three finger gestures for scrolling and minimizing open windows or switching apps. Why does it register as a keyboard and mouse? Well, if you're moving the cursor, clicking, or using two-finger scroll, it registers as mouse movements/clicks. If you use three fingers, it registers as a keyboard combo. Three fingers down register as Win+D, three fingers left/right register as Alt-Tab and Shift-Alt-Tab, etc.
