Fantastic iron just one feature missing

I am a sewing enthusiast and bought this iron mainly because I was interested in the lace design. It doesn't disappoint. With this iron you can achieve very sharp, crisp creases and easily get into tight corners and edges. I like the design very much. It also starts high enough on the iron that you don't risk burning the cord if it wraps around the base of the iron. Other features are about what I would expect from most irons. It has a decent enough water tank (not too different from my previous iron, to be honest) and the steam jets and water jets work as expected. It's also a bit heavier than my previous iron as it has a full size pressure plate and a thick cord. I'm happy with it because it looks so much better and stronger than my last (mostly disposable) iron. What it doesn't have are the OFF BUTTONS. Yes, it turns itself off if you leave it on. It flashes red for a good half hour as long as you keep it upright. But if you want to turn it off and not let the red light blink for 30 minutes, you have to go all the way down and turn it off. After a thousand years of ironing technology, haven't we developed a simple switch just like ANY OTHER DEVICE I HAVE? This is very inconvenient for me because I have the ironer on a large workbench and the plugs go through a wire duct so I have to go underneath, find out which iron and turn it off individually. I accidentally unplugged the lamp and duster and had to mark the iron with colored tape.
