Review on πŸ–±οΈ Logitech MX Anywhere 3 for Mac: Compact Wireless Mouse with Ultrafast Scrolling, Portable Design, and Customizable Buttons - Pale Grey by Mike Woolford

"Oil " movements and sensations!

I have an MX Anywhere 2 which has been a workhorse for 5 years, a totally reliable mouse. I'm a Mac user, I saw this mouse and bought it not out of necessity but out of curiosity. I bought an Apple Magic Mouse about 2 years ago but was disappointed mostly because its ability to track on glass surfaces was terrible. The MX Anywhere 2 has been recalled due to its excellent tracking abilities on all surfaces. So after purchasing the MX Anywhere 3, I was a bit dubious that it would replace the MX 2. In short, yes! The magwheel is a game changer, it's easy to scroll and the ratchet and free scroll modes are useful. I don't have a job that requires the advertised pixel-level scrolling, but if you do, I'm sure you'll be happy. Now for the differences to the MX3. The side areas where the thumb and pinky rest naturally are ribbed, not as uncomfortable but it feels different than the MX2. I don't know if it improves anything functionally, but I like the feel of the rib, maybe because it's different. Many other reviews have pointed out the lack of side scrolling on the wheel, and this is a definite step up from previous models. Now hold one of the side buttons and scroll the wheel to move sideways. I'm used to using the MX2 to move my mouse wheel sideways to scroll, and while I'm used to it, I've never found it handy (I prefer the Magic Mouse utility). The new method takes a little getting used to, but now I think it's a simpler design, with less finger strain. Some will like it, some will hate it. In short, I will keep this mouse and use it as my main mouse. The MX2 isn't going anywhere, but it's a worthy successor. The magwheel feels great and is a big design change. My only concern is that I wish they offered it in colors other than white, but that's a bit annoying. To be honest, I was willing to send the thing back immediately if it didn't raise the bar for the MX2. Although expensive for a mouse, I think I'll be happy with this new model for the next 5 years or more!
