I was skeptical at first because technology changes so quickly and until I learn something and decide to buy something, there's something new. But wow! I'm so glad I got it before I changed my mind. The sound quality is great! It might not be the ghetto blaster you're looking for, but it makes up for it with sonic clarity. You can really hear the music! Imagine. Played all day at 50-60% volume with no issues. I ran around on my boat and played it (at full volume while driving) and everyone also commented on the sound quality once I was outside. Towards the end of the day it started raining. Everyone went to great lengths to cover things up and hide electronics, but this thing kept playing in that summer rain. At that time I used to take people back to the house by boat during the rainy season! He handled the rain like a champion. I was very impressed with the sound, battery life, grip ergonomics and water resistance. A great buy for the price!
