They were purchased as surround back speakers for a 5.1 system consisting of ELAC B5.2 series speakers and a 12" SVS subwoofer. ELAC offers for my rear speakers. It's still quite difficult to find quality and affordable rear surround speakers, especially if you don't want your rear speakers to take up a lot of space or protrude too much. After much research I decided to give them a try based on good reviews, small size, great looks and mostly good experience with Polk speakers. I power them remotely with a small and cheap 50W wireless amplifier. I like the look with the grilles removed. The high-frequency sound is much better and more audible than previous Polk speakers, which were often shrill and sometimes even painful. c, which is very beautiful. Cons: A bit of a lack of bass and bass effects, which is to be expected from any small speaker with a 4-inch driver. Edit after a month of use - almost got them back as a sound. seemed very thin compared to the other speakers. After around 60 hours of use the sound has improved greatly and they sound much fuller now, not as tight and limited as when they were new. Now I feel that the Polk S10 is very well suited to the rear environment and does a great job in that role in my system. Unlike other small speakers I've had, I don't feel like I'm missing out on surround sound detail. They sound fine as near-field speakers in a cabinet or computer, but a subwoofer is very useful to make up for the lack of bass sounds.
