Engine Stutters - FIXED

When installing, did anyone try turning it on without dumps? Mine stutters a bit, picks up speed, spins for a few seconds, then stops. I'd rather not assemble all the blades only to find something is wrong with the fan motor. I find it hard to believe that adding blades would make it any better. It seems like the extra weight only increases drag. I've read that DC motors can do this somewhat randomly on startup, but I think I might have a lemon. UPDATE (Make lemonade with that lemon!): By this time we had already ordered a replacement and the same thing happened without the lemon. blades included. Two lemons?!? Unlikely, but possible. I'm starting to think it could be me. Knowing full well that it didn't matter, we decided to try blades anyway. Can't believe it works great now! Whiskey. Tango. foxtrot. It's pointless, but I can't dispute the result. I've added a video to show the stuttering, which is still noticeable on startup but normalizes after about 30 seconds. Changing directions also works well, but takes time. Everything is controlled by the remote control, and you press the switch while working. The fan will slow down (slowly), eventually stop, and then spin the other way again. This is a beautiful fan that is just as gorgeous as it looks in the photos. 4 stars because of two defective parts. One of the 12 blade mounts was missing a threaded hole, and one of the 12 trim bars running parallel to the blades was also not quite right. Luckily I didn't return the first fan and was able to replace what we needed. Installation Tip: Due to the number of blades and parallel blade beams, you cannot work on the ceiling end of the fan without removing a blade or two. . Everything is pretty close. Before attaching the knives, make the electrical connections and install the various clamps (above the knives).

Pros
  • Easy Setup
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
