I ordered this to connect the lighting to a standard 6.3mm plug. When it arrived I thought "Wow, that's pretty heavy" and when I opened it I understood why. it's huge! All other ball head mounts I've bought over the years are about 1" in diameter above the surface that the camera/lights/etc. are mounted on. But we're talking 1-1/4 to 1-1/2 inches here. The entire block is about 3 inches tall and at its widest point where the clamp bolt is located it is over 2 inches tall. If you're looking for something well built and the weight and size don't suit you then this is a really great device. Unfortunately I'm looking for something light and small. I'm giving this 5 stars because I feel like this would work great for someone who needs something that big. However, using this with a shoe mount gives you the option to adjust the lighting on the camera. it might be a bit big.
